Thomas Offermann is one of the world’s most renowned guitar teachers and a master of classical guitar. As a soloist, chamber musician and co-founder of DUO SONARE, he has toured more than 40 countries and left a lasting impression with his performances in concert halls, radio and television productions, and eight internationally acclaimed CD recordings. With DUO SONARE, he expanded the classical guitar repertoire to include compositions by contemporary musicians such as Chick Corea and Frank Zappa, who experienced their pieces in a new, soulful dimension. Prof. Dr. Offermann teaches an international solo class at the Rostock University of Music and Drama and is the artistic director of the International Guitar Academy Berlin. His commitment to ‘integrative movement theory for guitar’ and his expertise make him a sought-after teacher, juror and advisor in professional circles worldwide. He is the author of the book ‘Modern Guitar Technique – Integrative Movement Theory for Guitarists’ and is passionate about passing on his rich musical heritage. From 2010 to 2020, he was D’Addario’s European Classical Guitar Representative.
